Abstract:

Simulation is the imitation or representation of one act or system by another. Healthcare simulations can be said to have four primary purposes – education, assessment, research, and health system integration in facilitating patient safety. It allows care providers to develop competence without risks of inexperience and distraction to patients through early exposure and personalized training. This results in a reduction in patient harm and improves service efficiency. This talk will share examples of how you can utilize simulation in your centres to improve patient safety.
