Abstract:

Infection control is a top patient safety priority because postoperative infections can increase morbidity and mortality. Perioperative infection control starts in the operating room and anesthesia providers play a critical role in infection control and prevention. Key topics in infection prevention include hand hygiene, airway management, environmental disinfection, and safer injection practices—all topics that will be covered in this talk.
